Got some spare time on my hands the last few evenings, so I’m watching some old movies. Tonight, it’s Escape From New York.
It’s been a long time since I’d seen this one, and I just noticed something peculiar: of the guards that are carrying M-16s, all of the rifles have had their handguards removed.
I find myself wondering if maybe the director was hoping to make the rifles look skinnier? More futuristic? More prone to causing severe burns to the hands of the unnamed prison guards?
They sure do look strange that way.
