Seventy eight years ago, at 7:48 local time, on December 7, 1941, was the moment of a day that would live in infamy.
It wasn’t the the end of the horrors that we could impose upon our fellow man of that era.
Nor the beginning.
Three years ago, the sailors aboard the USS John C. Stennis rendered honors at that place to that time.
Quite possibly the greatest solo instrumental rendition of the US National Anthem that I’ve ever heard: Jake Shimabukuro, Gently Weeps, The Star Spangled Banner.
The entire album is awesome – well, with the exception of one or two tracks in Volume 2.
However, seeing that the American Independence Day is just around the corner, Freberg’s Declaration of Independence seems apropos.
