Daisy and I were preparing to announce any day now that after a long series of fertility treatments; and a brush with death from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy; and much ongoing arguing with assorted insurance companies about getting double-billed, and the meanings of the terms “Unlimited Coverage” and “No Lifetime Maximum” on medical coverage; the joyous news of the pending arrival of child #4* in June of 2013; a child whom I was intent on naming Freya.
We discovered just this morning that we’ve lost her.
You know that feeling you get when you walk down a flight of stairs in the dark and forget that there’s one more step? Something like that.
And, with that, I’d like to offer my gratitude to
- the staff of the University of Colorado Hospital ARM office for the past twelve years that did lead to the success for Daisy and I with Little Dude;
- to Amy for her selfless contribution that led to Little Miss;
- and to Shannon, for Boy Wonder (and by extension, Special K and JM).
