Bloomsday Doomsday

Today is the first day of Winter for the Northern Hemisphere, and I’m planning running a few errands in a few months.

Actually, I’ve been planning on running them as I’m clawing my way to continued recovery. Also since earlier this year when I’d learned of Bloomsday.

And reaffirmed my resolve when I was laid off.

I have no intention of finishing first, but I will complete it and at a speed faster than a walk.

Pearl Harbor

Seventy eight years ago, at 7:48 local time, on December 7, 1941, was the moment of a day that would live in infamy.

It wasn’t the the end of the horrors that we could impose upon our fellow man of that era.

Nor the beginning.

Three years ago, the sailors aboard the USS John C. Stennis rendered honors at that place to that time.
