Highlights from last Saturday’s adventure into Boston. With only one weekend here and being a bit burnt out we were happy to just spend a couple hours driving in and walking around the Boston Common. Stopped for a treat at Starbucks on Beacon street. The old buildings were awesome! The Littles took a run around the playground while John and I watched some college “kids” play some version of tag. We picked up a few AMAZING cookies from the Cookie Monstah food truck near the fountain then walked back to the truck. Along the way we paused to take a photo of Steinway&Sons Piano store going out of business. That was sad to me. Bella our love able flee bag came with and was wiped out from the walk but her being with us kept us from doing too much. We took the long and scenic route back towards Mansfield. Hey we got to see more of the city that way.

Vintage Trailer Home ad by Henslee 1950s
My grandparents actually had a monstrosity like this down in Florida. I think it doubled as a bowling alley.
You say monstrosity. I say awesomeness.
Peoplemover

“DisneyLand peoplemover poster (ca. late 1950s)” ~retro-futurism
It seemed to me that the People Mover made even more sense at Epcot than it did at Magic Kingdom. Yes, it fits well in Tomorrowland at MK, but it would be even more useful helping people quickly get across the nations of Epcot.
Another from the Breakdown

We managed to pull the trailer over and the tire came to rest at the same time right across from where it was supposed to be.
Repair Facilities are for Repairs

Parked safe and sound after 11 long hours next to I95 plus another 2 hours to rig up a solution to get us off the Highway and away from the swaying influence of traffic.
Those 2 hours included the 16 mile trek to the Auto Tow and Repair shop at 10-15 miles an hour. Thankfully only a mile of that was to the closest exit but the rest were on surface streets through small coastal towns in Connecticut with a yellow light flashing escort at “last call” on a Saturday night. More than one group of people on the side of the road partying stopped to gawk.
The angle the fifth wheel was sitting at on the side of the road was nerve racking, a bit nauseating and frankly a bit scary to me. It is one thing to have a flat, you just change the tire and be on your way, but to have all the wheel studs sheer off… Challenging.
We’re parked. Safe. We can be here till the parts are able to be procured. We don’t have much water onboard and I will have to get some more paper plates, bowls and cups to limit use. We have our own beds, food in the fridge and we will go exploring in a bit.
