It all comes down to a fundamental difference in mindset:

“It was bulletproof, so it wouldn’t have done any good to try anyway…” — that’s a defeatist attitude.

vs.

“DO!” — that’s a winning attitude. It doesn’t matter what the damned thing was made of. If you don’t try, then you’ve already committed yourself to letting somebody else decide your fate for you.
