The month’s work so far, on a single feature looks a bit like this:

Fortunately, we have our infrastructure tools built in such a way that a deploy takes about five minutes to spin up a complete, self-contained environment.
Unfortunately, because of the level of the feature that I’m dorking around with, if something goes wrong during the deploy, it takes about an hour to manually pry everything out of AWS.
While John worked today, I packed a lunch then coerced the Littles in the truck and drove us to the Edisto Beach, South Carolina over an hour away. Crazy, but mostly straight, two lane highways most of the way. We must have passed 150 churches in that 50 mile trip.
Kinda sad it took 6 weeks of Florida and half a week in South Carolina to finally see the Atlantic Ocean but now we’ve done it!
The Littles picked tons of shells and loaded their pockets. Some of the booty was left behind in our beach art.
On they way home we stopped off at a farm stand market and bought some veggies and a chocolate pie made from the farmer’s mother’s recipe. They have a family owned restaurant and they bake and can yummies to sell.

Make the upper stuff stowable, stick a little 10hp outboard off the back and one trailer that out to a nice lake to spend a weekend… or several.

I would disagree – that’s not the only reason. Another reason – a primary factor, I’m certain – is that they exist because they’ve been taught to hate.
Stop teaching children to hate others and the concept of hate and everything it causes will eventually evaporate from humanity. A generation. Or two. Or three.
But then, as a people, we’ll accomplish extraordinary things.
